Nicaragua and the autonomous regions Introducing the HoverAid Hovercare project |

The Vision of the Hovercare project
The Hovercare project brings together four ingredients which together could transform the lives of thousands, and not only in Nicaragua.
- The hopes and aspirations of isolated communities.
- HoverAid's experience of operating hovercraft in remote regions.
- Experienced health and development research personnel.
- Pioneering engineers from the UK health sector.
Within our team we have experience of constructing mobile clinics, and even operating theatres, built on standard truck platforms to the highest European and NHS standards. We now know this could be effectively done on a hovercraft too. We also know about the realities of medical provision in the developing world.
We believe hovercraft offer a transport solution which is effective in Nicaragua.
We believe access plays a key role in determining health outcomes in many isolated areas. Our next phase of research in Nicaragua is aimed at working out the best way that we can help communities in the remote eastern regions achieve their development goals, including better health.
Combining hovercraft with onboard clinic, dentistry, operating, maternity or educational facilities in a cost effective, clean, and sustainable way, which can be embraced by local communities and national govenments could provide remote communities with a real hover life-line.
