HoverAid supporters help Sri Lanka

HoverAid aims to ‘Save, Sustain and Enrich human life’. Sometimes in the short term the best way we can do this is by supporting the work of those who are already on the front line.
As a part of its Tsunami Appeal, HoverAid therefore chose to support Peoples Church Relief in Sri Lanka. HoverAid would like to send sincere thanks to everyone who has supported this appeal.
Your concern and generosity has raised a total of £24,447.18.
Peoples Church Relief has provided food, clothing, and temporary shelter for 350 families, and in conjunction with Oxfam built 140 new houses with safe water supplies. They are intending to build over one hundred more, but there is more to it than just bricks and mortar.
They are offering counselling services to those traumatised by the tsunami, and providing fishing nets, boats, sewing machines, carpentry and masonry tools to enable people to rebuild their livelihoods.
